Khurshed & Nilufar

August 28, 2026 Dushanbe, Tajikistan

Our Story

We are getting married — and we could not imagine celebrating without you.

Our wedding unfolds across three beautiful days in Dushanbe, the heart of Tajikistan. But before the celebrations begin, we want to share something even more special with you: the country we call home.

We invite you to arrive from August 20th so we can take you on an adventure through alpine lakes, ancient Silk Road fortresses, and mountain landscapes that will take your breath away. This is more than a wedding — it is a journey.

Discover Tajikistan

We’ll show you around before the wedding.
Here is a taste of what awaits.

The Week in Tajikistan — a day-by-day guide from your arrival to the wedding.

23 – 28 August · 2026

The Way There

Six days across Tajikistan — from your arrival to the wedding. Travel them, one at a time.

A coloured relief map of Tajikistan — its mountains and valleys, the country you will travel across this week.

Day 01

Choygashtak

Breakfast, a walk around the city center, and Choygashtak — a Tajik pre-wedding celebration in the evening.

Coloured-pencil illustration of the Ismoili Somoni monument in Dushanbe — a tall white-and-gold ceremonial arch over a crowned statue, marble steps, and ikat-patterned flowerbeds.

Day 02

Greenwood House

Continue exploring the city, followed by dinner at Greenwood House or another nice restaurant.

Coloured-pencil illustration of Greenwood House — a two-storey wooden log mansion with a deep-red roof, a garden of bare trees, and a stone path.

Day 03

Into the Valleys

Norak · Varzob · Romit

A day in the mountains just beyond the city — we’ll follow the water to whichever valley the day favours.

Coloured-pencil illustration of the Norak reservoir — a turquoise lake held between bare brown mountains above a hydroelectric dam.

Day 04

Iskanderkul

Trip to Iskanderkul, possibly with a short hike — an alpine lake the colour of turquoise, the highest point of the week.

Coloured-pencil illustration of Iskanderkul — a wide turquoise alpine lake ringed by tan dunes and peaks under small clouds.

Day 05

Nikkah

Brunch, followed by Nikkah in the evening — the quiet, sacred heart of the week.

Coloured-pencil illustration of the Nikkah — a veiled bride, the groom, and an officiant signing at a table, with henna-painted hands.

Day 06

The Wedding

The main celebration — the Tuy. An evening of music, dancing, and feasting with everyone we love.

Coloured-pencil illustration of Tajik wedding instruments — two crossed golden karnay horns, a doira frame drum, tablak drums, and a surnay.

Come hungry.

A few of the dishes one of the world’s oldest peoples has cooked for thousands of years — and still loves.
